Hi everyone,
I am preparing to make a large batch of cards for the PDSA Shop in Leicester City. I have had animals treated at their Leicester Animal Hospital in the past, and today we collected my Mother-in-Laws cat China from them. She had been with them since Friday, when she was admitted in a very poorly condition. It was touch and go for a few hours to say the least, but we saw a vast improvement in China today when we collected her.
I will be going through all my stored decoupage sheets and all my vast collection of CD that I have collected over a long period of time, and hope to make a lot of cards that I can take in to the shop so that they can make more money to help keep the Animal Hospital going. It's going to be a lengthy process, but well worth the effort in the end. I will try to remember to scan them when they are complete and put them on here for everyone to see.
Before anyone asks, I am only making and delivering the cards, and will have nothing to do with the sale of them, all sales of the cards will be done by the Leicester PDSA Shop, and all money they collect will be for the sole use of Leicester PDSA.

Satin Squares packs from Poundland
I recently bought 2 packets of Satin squares in Poundland, but not sure how they can be incorporated into card making, so I am adding the images here, and if you have any idea's please feel free to share with me your thoughts on this.
I look forward to hearing any comment or suggestions.

Birthday Card for my Great Niece Chloe
Well I did get a card made and in the post to my Great Niece in Telford for her Birthday - which is the day before mine. Here is a picture:
The Butterfly card was one from a pack that was a Gift with one of my recent Magazine Subscriptions, only the front is shaped. I covered the card with a Backing Paper from yet another Free Gift with a magazine - My Minds Eye Summer is the papers used. I then cut the green flower shapes from another sheet of the same papers, and found some tiny butterflies to go on top. I trimmed round the edge with Peel Off stickers, however I don't feel that these glitter type one's are right for it, it needs something a tad more bendable for the shapes it has to conform to, but hope to solve that problem with my Cricut machine in the next few weeks, and of course save those vital pennies.

Card for Scarlett - Great Niece :)
My Great Niece - Scarlett is 1 year old tomorrow and I worked till 1am to get this card made so it could go in the post first thing this morning. Craft room has bits of paper all over the place - but who cares - I don't - I had fun making the lovely Beatrix Potter card.
I didn't make the card as instructed - no fun if you can't break the rules - I just used sticky pads as opposed to the card cubes, but it still makes an effective and different Birthday card. I was also lucky enough to have some Beatrix Potter Toppers that came with one of my magazines, so Jemmima Puddleduck is inside, whilst a rear view of Peter Rabbit is on the back of the card. Now I just hope the postal Service gets their finger out, and don't damage it in the delivery process.
Catch you all soon - more cards on their way!

Card for Mother-in-Law
I finally got the card made for Mother's Birthday for 1 June, made from work by Barbara Clooney. Whilst putting the card together I realised that in my stash of peel-offs I had some that would compliment the shape of the Tea Pot image, none left now so will have to either try and get more or create my own design and make them with my Cricut machine.
More to come soon, as I have more cards to make for later on this month.

April Birthday Cards
Hi Folks,
I'm all behind like a donkey's tail at present, personal illness and having brand new windows put in being the cause. I just wanted to upload my 2 latest cards, so that you can see I really do craft in the Craft Shed.
This is the card I made for my good friend Sue's birthday for 28th April and comes from a Debbi Moore CD Glitter & Glitz Magic Moments.
This card I made for my Sister - also for 28th April and is a Kizzy Dizzy Design - I really do love their products.
Off to the Craft Shed again now, as I have to make a card for Mother-in-Laws Birthday which is on Tuesday.

Handy Craft Idea for the New Year
Well Happy New Year everyone, sorry I have been a tad snowed under - if you pardon the pun. Yes we did have a White Xmas here in Leicestershire, however the low temperatures and hard frosts are getting just a bit too much now. I was out a few hours ago, taking my Son home - or should I say letting him drive the car, while I clung on like grim death - nail imprints can be found in the door handle on the front passenger door.
Anyway - onto more pressing stuff - CRAFT - I knew that would make you sit up and listen, I was in my local Home Bargains last week, when I spied a Gift Bag Organizer by Hallmark - I have checked out their website but can not find the item. So I have scanned the label that was round the item.
As we all know Crafters always think outside of the box, and therefore everything has more than one use. The size of this Organizer is 19" x 18" x 12" deep when fully expanded. Plenty big enough for those who have a passion for Scrapbooking or those just starting out Scrapbooking and wishing to take items along to a Scrapbooking meeting. It also comes with a set of handy labels for the tabs so that you can organise your sheets and other accessories. This handy carry case cost me all of £1.99GBP. Further down the label, it does say that in USA it will normally retail at $14.95 - which converts to £9.28GBP - so you can see just how much of a saving this item really is. I think I will go back next time I am in town, and get a couple more, as they are well worth the £1.99GBP. Obviously like all Home Bargains stores, you have to take what you can get when you see it - they frequently have Fiskars items - at vastly reduced prices - it does beg the question why Fiskars charge so much for the items, yet Home Bargains can sell them so cheaply. Whatever way you look at it - the person getting the bargain in this case is us the Crafter.
All the best for 2010.
